New Caledonia

Recently I just came back from a ten day cruise that went around New Caledonia.

The places I visited were Noumea (capital of New Caledonia), Lifou Island, Port Villa and Isle of Pines. Sadly our cruise line missed out on Mystery Island due to strong currents. Some of these islands do not actually have a port so the cruise line use the life boats to get the passengers safely from the boat to shore. It was an exciting experience but also lengthy as you are living on a boat for ten days. I would recommend it, as it is a different experience you get from actually flying to another country. A cruise line is basically your home on water.

TIP: It is handy to learn basic French phrases as French is their first language in New Caledonia.
